Valley Catholic alumna Mariel Zagunis ’03 dominated the competition to win the saber title at the 2009 Fencing World Championships on Saturday in Antalya, Turkey. Mariel cruised to victory over her Ukrainian opponent 15-6. This marks the highest non-Olympic honor that Mariel has won.
